In April 2015 Richard Morgan age 73 years, Burley resident, will be undertaking a week long Arctic Dog Sledding Challenge, driving a team of huskies 250 kms across the frozen wilderness above the Arctic Circle. He will be camping overnight in temperatures of minus 20/30 degrees. Richard is completing this challenge to raise funds for the children’s charity ‘Right to Play’ and also to show others that you are never too old or young to challenge yourself.
There are two fundraising events before Richard leaves for Norway:
- Coffee Morning and Bazaar – Saturday 7th February 10.30am at Burley Village Hall. 50p entrance to include tea/coffee and biscuits. Stalls to include – raffle, cake stall, crafts, bric a brac, books and tombola.
- Saturday 7th March – Quiz Night with Fish & Chip Supper in the Village Hall
‘Right to Play’ use sport and playing games to educate and empower children to overcome the effects of poverty, conflict and disease in disadvantaged communities around the world.
Please support ‘Right to Play’ by coming along to the fundraising events or by visiting www.virginmoneygiving.com/RichardMorgan24 . All monies raised will go directly to the charity.
